If you are a savvy online retailer, you know what a conversion rate is, right? Well, just in case, lets all be clear that the conversion rate is the number of web users who actually purchase a product divided by the number of viewers who click on the site but do not buy.
Bigger is better, at least that's what we've all been told. You want to generate the greatest amounts of sales, by generating the largest amount of traffic which is done by advertising in ezines with a large subscriber base-- a formula for success, or maybe not. Advertising in smaller ezines and thinking small can be very powerful.

Others are declaring it dead.
"New improved ezine marketing method," you've probably seen an ad saying something to that effect at one point or another. I've met a number of businesses that advertise both online and offline and most of the time I ask a simple question, "What return of investment do you receive as a result of your investment?" In most cases I get an answer equivalent to that of a blank stare often it is a blank stare. I have to shake my head, though usually I want to shake them and scream "Why aren't you testing!"
Possibly the greatest aspect of online marketing is that audience that exists online. Millions of people, world wide, use the internet to look for products, services and information. While there are a multitude of marketing methods to reach the staggering numbers of online shoppers, one of the best ways is ezine advertising.
If you publish an email newsletter, do you convert the issues to HTML and archive them on your website? If you haven't been doing so, you should start now, today.
